Meet Mrs. Fancy Gingerbread! Check out all the detailing on her dress. I promise, it's not as difficult as it looks. Don't forget to check out the Mister Gingerbread cookie tutorial as well. Both would make great gifts given as pairs!
Materials needed:
~ Baked sugar cookies - You can get a similar cookie cutter HERE.
~ Royal Icing
~ Gel food coloring
~ brown, red
~ Edible thin tip marker - You can get it HERE.
~ Scribe
~ Piping bags
The royal icing consistencies should be as follows:
*Red royal icing - Medium consistency.
*White royal icing - Medium to stiff consistency.
*Brown royal icing - Medium consistency
For this design, you do not need to use any specific type of tip. I simply the desired hole size at the tip of the piping bag. If you get any bubbles while piping, simply use your scribe or toothpick and smooth it out.
Step 1
Make sure your baked cookie is completely cooled before adding any royal icing.
Step 2
Using the red royal icing, outline the dress area and flood.
Step 3
Next, use the brown icing and add on the head and arms.
Step 4
Once the red and brown icing is set, use the edible marker and draw on the face. Next, add the bow. For the bow, add one part at a time, wait a minute or so, and add the next part. For the dress, you can use any design you want to. I just came up with a pattern that I thought would look nice. Use the white royal icing. Make sure the cookie is hardened before serving or packing.
