Materials needed:
~ Baked stocking sugar cookies - You can get a similar cookie cutter HERE.
~ Royal icing
~ Edible gold dust - You can get it HERE.
~ Lemon extract
~ Food safe paint brush - You can get a pack HERE.
~ Piping bags
~ Scribe or toothpick
For this design, you only need white royal icing. You'll want medium consistency icing.
Step 1
Flood the entire cookie with the white royal icing. Use your scribe or toothpick to get rid of any bubbles or to even out the icing. Let the icing sit for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
In a new piping bag, cut a very small opening at the tip. Make some designs on the stocking. You can include lines, dots, zigzags, whatever you can come up with! Let your design dry for about 15 minutes. Then, pipe a bow onto the cookie. Give the cookies a few hours to dry before the next step.
Step 3
Next, mix a couple drops of lemon extract with a pinch of gold dust. Use a small paint brush and paint the ribbons gold.
