Berry Pie Cookie Tutorial

When I think of holidays, I think of Pie! What is a better way to celebrate the holidays than sharing it with your families, at a safe distance or virtually. A treat to gift is always welcomed. Learn how to make this delicious treat below.

Materials needed:

~ Baked sugar cookies

~ Royal Icing

~ Gel food coloring

~ burgundy, brown

~ Scribe

~ Round and leaf piping tip

~ Piping bags

~ Piping coupler

The royal icing consistencies should be as follows:

* Burgundy royal icing - flood consistency

* Light brown royal icing - Stiff consistency

* Brown royal icing - stiff consistency

* Mix of Brown and Burgundy - Medium consistency

Step 1

Make sure your baked cookie is completely cooled before adding any royal icing.

Step 2

Using a round tip, flood the cookie with burgundy royal icing. Make sure to leave some of the edge so that we can put the pie crust on later! Let the royal icing harden.

Step 3

Next, using a small round tip, you'll take the light brown and create a basket weave design. You'll be able to see the burgundy color peek through!

Here's a little quick video demonstrating how to assemble the lines to create a basket weave design.

Step 4

Add the crust on by using a round tip. Make a circular motion up and down. Use the leaf tip and make three leaves. On top, add some of the burgundy/brown icing for berries.

Now, just make a couple more of these to share!
