Baby Shower Cookies - Boy - Sweet Little Bear

Follow the steps below to create the sweetest little bear cookie for a baby shower party.

Materials You'll Need:

~ Baked bear sugar cookies (I suggest this one from Amazon!)

~ Royal Icing

~ Gel Food Coloring

~ Grey, Navy, and White

~ Piping Bags

~ Food Safe Edible Marker (Black - fine tip)

~ Scribe tool or toothpick

I suggest mixing all your royal icing with medium consistency beforehand. For all of the icing, you don't need to use any tips. Simply cut a small opening at the tip of the piping bag.

Step 1

After baking your sugar cookie, make sure it is completely cooled before placing any royal icing on top.

Step 2

Using the grey medium consistency royal icing, flood the top 3/4 of the cookie. Use the scribe to get rid of any imperfections.

Step 3

Next, use the navy royal icing and flood the remaining space on the surface of the cookie. This will be the pants for the bear.

Step 4

Next, pipe two of the same sized dots next to each other. Next, use your scribe or toothpick to create two sideways triangles with the tips touching to form a bow shape.

Step 5

Using the white icing, pipe two vertical lines starting from the shoulder and down overlapping part of the pants. These will be the suspenders.

Step 6

Add navy lines onto the suspenders and some extra lines onto the pants for detail. If you make any mistake, don't worry! You can always use the scribe to reshape your icing, or you can simply scrape it off while the icing is still wet. But... don't forget, if you get darker icing onto lighter icing, you may not be able to get all the color off if you do make a mistake. This only applies if your previous layer that you are working with is already dry. If it is still wet, your colors will just mix.

Step 7

Make sure the grey part of the bear is completely dry before moving onto this next step. Take your edible marker and place the eyes, nose, mouth, and ear outlines onto the cookie. You can also use black royal icing, but if you are running out of time or just for simplicity, use the marker.

There you have it! Simple, adorable, and sweet.
