Autumn Leaf Cookie Tutorial

Autumn isn't over yet! Prepare for Thanksgiving and perfect how to make this marbled fall leaf cookie. It's easier than it looks, I promise! You'll be sure to impress friends and family with this treat.

Materials needed:

~ Baked sugar cookie pieces

~ Royal Icing

~ Gel food coloring

~ Orange, Yellow, Red

~ Scribe

~ Round piping tips

~ Piping bags

~ Piping coupler

~ Edible food marker - thin tip

For this design, your royal icing consistency should be medium for all colors. Use a separate piping bag for each color and connect the round piping tips with the piping couplers.

Step 1

Make sure your baked cookie is completely cooled before adding on any royal icing.

Step 2

Fill the entire cookie with orange icing.

Step 3

While the orange layer is still wet, use the red and yellow royal icing to draw lines onto the leaf. This is the wet on wet technique - layering different coloring royal icing on top of another.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the marbled look is completely dry, take your thin black edible marker and make some leaf veins onto the cookie. You can make more or less, it's all up to you!

There you have it! Simple, beautiful, and tasty!
