What is prettier than florals in your home year round?! Make this adorable floral letter as a gift or for yourself. My little sister's birthday is coming up, and I wanted to surprise her with a handmade gift. She loves nature and the color pink, so of course I went for flowers! All supplies were purchased at Hobby Lobby. Make sure you go when they are having their 50% off florals - which is almost all the time!
Materials Needed:
~ Paper Mache Letter (you can also use wooden letters or anything of the sort!)
~ Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
~ A couple of flower stems (Try to get a good mix of different shades)
~ Scissor
Firstly, you'll want to use your scissor and remove all the flowers from the stems. Don't forget the leaves, too! If you find it easier, simply pluck the flower off the stem. You might decide that using certain leaves may not work for your project, simply set them aside for a different project. In this case, I only felt like the bottom left leaves would work for this project.
Grab your paper mache letter, and plan where you want the placement of the flowers to be. When you are happy with the placement, grab your glue gun, and glue those pieces into place. You'll want to use a generous amount, otherwise, you risk the flowers falling off!
Next, select another group of flowers. Place those throughout the paper mache. Keep in mind to leave space for other flowers you still want to place. Glue in place.
Now, I decided to place the white flowers to cover the rest of the paper mache letter. I did have another group of flowers, but I felt like it would look better to top or stick in between the flowers already on the letter.
I put the more dainty flowers in smaller cracks and spaces.
Finally, add in the green leaves. Use more glue than normal since the stems are a little more thin.
Gift and style however you want to. I only did a letter "E" instead of my sister's full name since the letter was already pretty large. Hobby Lobby sells all different kinds of sizes - I think a smaller version would be so cute so you could spell out an entire name. You'd just have to use smaller flowers. Here's my floral letter with my wood accent wall!
